Three days. A city full of creative people. And a team that came back different.

Last week, the DGB Global creative team attended The Design Conference in Brisbane. Three days immersed in ideas, perspectives and conversations that pushed us well outside our usual frame.

TDC is one of those rare experiences that reminds you why creative thinking matters, not just as a professional tool, but as a way of seeing the world more clearly.

A few things stayed with us.

Nic found herself returning to two words all week: chaos and relationships. The insight being that chaos isn't the enemy of good work. It's often where the best work happens. What makes it possible is the strength of the relationships you bring into it.

Sav came home thinking about 90,000 hours, roughly what we each give to work over a lifetime, and the question that kept following her: how do we make those hours count for something more? Her answer pointed toward humility over ego, curiosity over certainty, and staying a learner even when you're supposed to be the expert.

And Liam carried this one home: "Design is how we give form to our intentions."

That line lands differently when you work in a field where the words and the visuals have to carry equal weight.

Stu summed up what the whole team felt:

The three-day TDC experience gives us the chance to connect, collaborate and create in a way that feels both energising and expansive. It allowed us to step outside our day-to-day world and immerse ourselves in the broader creative landscape, surrounded by people, ideas and perspectives that stretch our thinking and remind us of the power of shared creative energy.

It is inspiring, perspective-shifting and always leaves us with a renewed sense of clarity and momentum to bring back into our work at DGB Global. At the midway point of the year, it feels like a valuable creative reset. A moment to refresh, reframe and return to our work with sharper thinking, fresh ideas and a more inspired lens.

In a world that can often feel unpredictable and chaotic, TDC is also a bold reminder of how wonderful it is to work in creative spaces. We feel incredibly lucky to embrace the weird, wonderful and unpredictable nature of creative pursuit, and to play even a small part in shaping where this industry goes next.

At DGB, we believe that the quality of our creative thinking directly shapes the quality of our clients' campaigns. Investing in the team, in moments like this, isn't a luxury. It's part of how we do the work well.

We're grateful to have come back with sharper thinking, fresh perspectives and a renewed sense of what's possible.
